The Pawpaw Tree House is a Vacation Rental Home located in McCarr, Kentucky across the bridge from the Matewan, West Virginia State border and is within 0.5 miles of the Hatfield & McCoy Devil Anse Trail Head that connects to the Buffalo Mountain & Rockhouse Trails. The house is surrounded by restaurants, museums, grocery store, general stores, gas station, pharmacy and small town shops. Everything you need is just around the corner.
Across the road from the house is the Registered Historic Landmark Park of the Hatfield & McCoy PawPaw

PAWPAW TREE INCIDENT PARK ACROSS THE STREET
A major landmark moment in the history of the Hatfield & McCoy Feuds transpired here and ended in murder. Memorialized now in a Park and Registered as a National Historic Landmark called the Pawpaw Tree Incident.
Some just come to take in a moment and sit by the river and admire the mountainside scenery.
Standing on the front or side deck of the house you can see Tug Fork river, Pawpaw Tree Park and mountainside.

You might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Bald Eagle that comes to visit from time to time and if you have a zoom lens on your camera you might get some great close up pictures.

- 2 Night Minimum Weeknights or Non-Holiday Weekends
- 3 Night Minimum on Holiday or Event WeekendsRATES ARE BASED ON 6 OCCUPANTS- ADDITIONAL CHARGE for Each Additional Occupant
- No one is allowed to be on the property after 11pm that is not a paying customer
- You will be charged extra for each additional bed that is messed up, over the number of occupants needs, regarding single/couple usage. (eg: 2 couples & 1 single only need 3 beds)
- Check In 3:00pm or after
- Check Out 11:00am
- Government issued ID and credit, debit card, or cash deposit required at check-in for incidental charges.
You will be charged for damages or missing items. - Must be at least 25 to rent the house

- One Night Deposit Due Upon Reservation the Remainder is Due at Check-In.
- No Deposit Refund if Cancelled within 30 days of reservation.
BEFORE DEPARTURE
- PLEASE:
- Strip Sheets from the beds and put them in the tub along with towels and wash cloths.
- Place trash bags in fenced in area at the upper parking space.
- Wash dishes and put them away or load and start dish washer.
- Turn A/C to 78 – heat to 58 before departing
- Turn off all lights

- No indoor furniture to be taken outside.
- No Muddy boots or shoes allowed in the house. Please use slippers or clean shoes.
- Please be respectful of private property. You will be charged for damages.
- Be courteous to neighbors that live here: Noise ordinance – quiet time is 11pm – 7am.
